Almost every leader we speak to believes culture matters.

They know it holds the key to engagement, performance, innovation, retention and wellbeing.

So why does it still feel so difficult to improve?

That was the question at the heart of our recent Make Growth a HABIT webinar, where more than 250 leaders registered to explore a simpler, more practical way to shape culture.

The challenge isn't usually a lack of motivation.

It's a lack of clarity.

Culture feels huge. It touches everything. Everyone has a different opinion about it.

And because it can feel so intangible, many organisations either launch another large transformation programme or do nothing at all.

Neither approach tends to work.

The obstacles every leader encounters

Throughout the webinar, participants shared challenges that will sound familiar to many organisations.

  • Culture feels too broad to know where to begin

  • Old habits pull people back to "the way we've always done things"

  • Values are clear, but everyday behaviours don't reflect them

  • Leaders support the idea of culture but struggle to translate it into practical action

And even when improvements are made, they rarely stick because culture is treated as a one-off initiative rather than something that's continually shaped.

These problems aren’t caused by a lack of good intentions. They're the result of not having a simple system and approach for confidently and effectively shaping culture in the everyday.

Why we created the HABIT system

The HABIT framework wasn't designed to make culture more complicated.

It was designed to:

  • Cut through the noise

  • Give leaders a common language

  • Connect culture directly to business priorities

  • Help find a place to start

It gives leaders confidence that they're focusing their energy where it will make the biggest difference.

A practical place to begin

One of the simplest exercises from the session asked participants to reflect on just two questions:

What does a good day at work feel like?

What does a bad day feel like?

Those conversations reveal more about a culture than almost any survey score.

From there, using our HABIT system, you can begin to see patterns, identify what's helping people thrive, uncover what's getting in the way, and decide where to focus first.

Culture suddenly becomes much less abstract.

It becomes something you can see.

And constantly nudge towards growth.

If you couldn't join us live, you can now watch the full webinar on demand and download the practical worksheet we used throughout the session.

Together they'll help you cut through the complexity, understand your culture more clearly, and use the HABIT system to identify your own priorities and next steps.

Culture change isn’t about big bang initiatives. It improves when you have a clear system that helps you focus on what matters most, and the confidence to take the next step.
